I’m Kwabena Boakye, though most people call me Kabe. I build web interfaces with React and Next.js, and I’ve learned the hard way that a quick fix today usually costs more later. Clean architecture and performance aren’t abstract goals for me; they’re what keeps a codebase workable six months after whoever wrote it has moved on.

I work best when communication is direct and decisions get made together, not handed down. On past projects that meant sitting with designers and backend engineers early, before the UI was locked in, so the interface matched what the system could actually do. I’d rather push back on a requirement that doesn’t make sense than build it quietly and leave it as someone else’s problem.

I’m still learning, and I’d be suspicious of any developer who says they’re not. Right now that means staying close to how Next.js and React actually change release to release, not just the version I first picked up. The goal on every project stays simple: leave the code in better shape than I found it, even if that just means one clearer function name.
